This massive Italian mortar from the early 19th century is carved out of one single piece of wood. It was used to husk and dehull grain. The natural patina of the object is exceptionally beautiful. The signs of wear are due to intensive use of the tool over a long period of time.. Amazing patina from use to mill grain and wheat
