The small population of the Metoko live in the equatorial forest, where they make a living mainly through hunting. Masks are
worn during the funeral of members of the Bukota brotherhood (with both male and female members who exercise political, legal
and economic power), during initiation rites of the Bukota society, during healing rituals etc. This mask is rather rare because the Metoko produced few masks.
