The Tribes from the Solomon Islands worshipped the Skulls of their Ancestors as the home of their Spirits. If no remarkable man remains were preserved or available, a stylized carved head could provide an approximate symbol. Such carvings were not where their Spirit resided – it was only a focal point for reverence and worship. Few carvings of this form exist. The Tribes of the Solomon Islands were people with a great sense of personal adornment and headhunters at the same time: Dandy Headhunters. This rarity was collected in situ at the beginning of the 20th century.
