In his book Les Arts bateke, Raoul Lehuard emphasizes, through the representation of this object, the beauty of Teke Janus sculptures. Of great aesthetic quality, this statuette stands out for its elegant arched sagittal crest, its double-sectioned face, and its ovoid body filled with magical substances. Belonging to type 44, only three figures following these aesthetic principles have been identified to date (see Raoul Lehuard, Les Arts Bateke, Arts d'Afrique Noire, 1996, p. 308-309).
