This is a rare and unusual taxidermy stool. The walnut upper section of the X-frame with turned side supports and hide covered central seat panel raised on deer-hoof supports united by hide-covered H-form stretchers. This stool was produced by the leading taxidermy manufacturer of the 19th century : Rowland Ward Ltd. who had showrooms at "The Jungle" 166 Piccadilly.
