A fine quality flayed or ecorche figure taken from the originals by Jean Antoine Houdon (1741-1828).Houdon created his flayed man while in Rome in the 1760s and based it upon the Doryphoros or spear carrier by Polykleitos. It has been used as an anatomical model and guide to artists ever since.
