The 400.000 Ngbaka live between the Ubangi- and the Kongo river in DRC. Their masks, known as Dagara, are worn during and after ceremonies associated with the Gaza or Ganza initiation and circumcision of young men. They are oval and often have a concave face with an elongated triangular nose with vertical scarifications on the forehead.
