Her legs crossed, the mother sits on a little stool and holds the child on her knees, staring in the distance. She's wearing a knitted headdress and bracelets; attributes of a Chief’s wife. The open mouth shows her filed pointed teeth. A typical cord crosses her breasts. The object shows signs of age and has a wonderful patina. The left ear and eyes have been restored.
Provenance: Written certificate 2014 by Jan Pareyn stating that the statue belonged to Henry Pareyn.
