The Marabou Stork is observed in the marshes, lakeshores and rivers of Africa. Its plumage is slate grey and whitish below; it has long legs, and flies folded neck. It lives and feeds into the open arid bush and the wooded savanna. It’s close to vultures, which it meets on the carcasses of large mammals such as antelopes and buffaloes; it can easily break through the abdominal wall with its powerful beak. Carrions are its primary food source.
