A fine example of a powder flask originating from India during the Mughal Empire in the 17th century. Shaped in a curved, bow-like design with its original iron stopper and craved in high relief. The mouth is carved with a double gazelle's head accentuating the horns and ears stretching downwards from the mouth. The gazelles are being chased by what appears to be a school of fish carved throughout the body and base of the mouth.
