Description

Beautiful set of three ivory tools and utensils of the members of the Bwami secret society of the Lega People in DRC.The undecorated "Nondo" hammer with a deep reddish-brown patina. The two axe blades "Isaga" decorated with circles evoke the tool that the Lega use when they create a living space in the heart of the forest. Note: Pre-Convention Ivory Specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A), prior to 1 July 1947 and therefore compliant with Rule EC 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to 1 July 1975 and therefore in accordance with the French decrees of 16 August 2016 and 4 May 2017. For an exit from the European Union, a RE-export CITES will be necessary, the latter being the responsibility of the future purchaser. The issuance of such a document is not automatic. For a possible re-export, it will be up to the awardee to inquire - prior to any purchase - with the customs of the country concerned, especially if it is the United States.
